Tomato sauce with beef and dumplings / Rajska omacka s hovezim a knedlikem

Ingredients:

2 tablespoon of flour
2 tablespoon of unsalted butter
1/2 of onion cut in small pieces
1 litter of chicken broth (or water with dried chicken broth cube)
2 cans of tomato sauce
2 pieces of allspice
2 pieces of whole black pepper
1 piece of whole cinnamon stick
2 pieces of bay leaves
4 tablespoon of sugar
1 big chuck of beef (2- 3 lbs of beef sirloin - preferred or other beef chuck)
Bread dumplings (see in other recipes)


Directions:

Make a mix of flour, butter and onion put into big pot and stir for 1 min. Add broth and mix well. Add cans of tomato sauce, all spices and sugar. Boil fo 10 minutes then strain through a strainer so there are no pieces left in sauce. Serve.

Put beef in a pressure cooker with water reaching half the meat and boil until meat is tender. If you don't have a pressure cooker boil in a normal pot for 1 hour/2 hours until tender.

Serve with bread dumplings and enjoy!

Ingredients

- 2 pounds of beef - any part is possible
- 2 pounds of onion
- oil
- 1 beef or chicken bouillon
- 2 tablespoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 3 teaspoon of salt
- water
- flour mix - 3 tablespoons of flour, 1 cup of water - mix with fork until you make a paste for thickening the sauce

Directions

1. Cut beef into pieces. Preheat oil in a big pot (must fit 2 liters of sauce) for 350 degrees. When ready, sear onion - gold color, add beef in the pot. Sear the meat, add salt, pepper, paprika.
2. Add water 2 liters.
3. Close with lid. Cook until meat is soft and its falling apart - check every 30 minutes if there is enough water.
4. When meat is soft enough, add flour mix into the sauce, wait for the flour to make the sauce thick. Cook for another 5 minutes.
5. According to taste - add chili peppers, green peppers, sausage...
