Creamy chicken/ Kure na smetane

Ingredients:

6 - 10 pieces of chicken breast slightly tenderized (half inch thick)
16 oz. of heavy whipping cream
salt to taste

Directions:

Put chicken on a cookie sheet (baking pan), salt to taste and cover with heavy cream. Bake for 30 minutes on 450 Degrees Fahrenheit. Serve with rice or potatoes.

Very easy and delicious recipe. 

Tomato sauce with beef and dumplings / Rajska omacka s hovezim a knedlikem

Ingredients:

2 tablespoon of flour
2 tablespoon of unsalted butter
1/2 of onion cut in small pieces
1 litter of chicken broth (or water with dried chicken broth cube)
2 cans of tomato sauce
2 pieces of allspice
2 pieces of whole black pepper
1 piece of whole cinnamon stick
2 pieces of bay leaves
4 tablespoon of sugar
1 big chuck of beef (2- 3 lbs of beef sirloin - preferred or other beef chuck)
Bread dumplings (see in other recipes)


Directions:

Make a mix of flour, butter and onion put into big pot and stir for 1 min. Add broth and mix well. Add cans of tomato sauce, all spices and sugar. Boil fo 10 minutes then strain through a strainer so there are no pieces left in sauce. Serve.

Put beef in a pressure cooker with water reaching half the meat and boil until meat is tender. If you don't have a pressure cooker boil in a normal pot for 1 hour/2 hours until tender.

Serve with bread dumplings and enjoy!

Home made eggnog / Domaci vajecny konak

Ingredients:

5 Egg yolks
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 cans of sweet condensed milk
1/2 litter of rum/brandy (if you have Czech Rum - Tuzemak is the best)

Directions:

Put egg yolks, sugar and vanilla extract into blender and blend for 10 minutes until it becomes a foam. Don't stop blending and start adding condensed milk one at a time after both cans are in add rum/brandy.

Refridgerate and enjoy!



Marokanky / Cranberry Nut Cookies!!

Ingredients:

250 ml/1 cup of milk
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of crushed nuts (small pieces)
1 and 1/2 cups of dried cranberries or raisins
3/4 of cup of unsalted butter
1 and 1/2 cups of flour


Directions:

1. Place milk, sugar, nuts, cranberries (raisins) and butter into big pot. Heat up on low heat (until butter is melted).
2. Take off the heat and mix with flour.
3. Using two spoons make little balls and place them on greased cookie sheet (or on cookie sheet covered by wax paper).
4. Bake on 350 degrees for 10 minutes, or until the balls start to get brown on the bottom.
5. When cold, sprinkle with melted baking chocolate.

Dill sauce

Ingredients:

- 1 liter or milk (0,264 gallon)
- 1 box of fresh dill (5 branches), chopped
- instant beef bouillon for 1 liter (0,264 gallon)
- flour (prepare flour paste from 3 tbsp of flour and 1 cup of water, poor through strainer to achieve no blobs)
- 4 tablespoon of sugar
- distilled white vinegar to taste

Directions:

1. Poor one cup of water in a big pot on a low heat. Add instant beef bouillon until dissolved. When dissolved poor milk into pot and stir WELL! If you won't stir it will burn!
2. When milk is hot, add chopped dill, sugar and flour paste. The sauce will start to get thicker. (if its not thick enough, make some more flour paste and add to a mix). Cook on very low heat until it starts bubbling.
3. Boil for 5 minutes. Turn heater off and add vinegar. WARNING: When adding vinegar, never poor directly into sauce!! Take a big spoon, poor 1 teaspoon of vinegar into spoon and mix well. Continue until the sauce has sweet & sour taste. Don't put too much vinegar because you would never fix the sour taste!!!
4. Serve with boiled potatoes and hard boiled eggs.

Sardines spread

Ingredients

- 2 cans of  sardines in oil or in tomato puree
- 8 oz. of mayo or miracle whip
- 1/2 stick of butter (4 tablespoons)
- 1/2 of onion (or one small one)- salt, pepper to taste

Directions

1. Chop onion and sardines into fine pieces.
2. Place chopped onion, sardines into bowl, mix with mayo and butter.
3. Add salt and pepper to taste. Let it cool down in a fridge. 4. Serve with any type of bread or cracker, taste delicious.

- 1/2 stick of butter (4 tablespoons)
